SPECIAL ABILITIES
Acid Pool (Su)
An ancient or older black dragon can use its breath weapon to create an acid pool as a standard action. This acid pool has a radius of 50 feet. When an acid pool is created, anyone inside its area takes 20d6 points of acid damage (Reflex half). Any creature that starts its turn touching this pool takes damage, but can make a Reflex save for half. Each round, the total damage dice of the pool is halved (10d6 round 2, 5d6 round 3, 2d6 round 4, 1d6 round 5) until the result would be less than 1d6. The acid pool floats on water, and deals damage to anything on the surface. This is the only way the gaping dragon can use its breath weapon.
Corrupt Water (Sp)
Once per day an adult or older black dragon can stagnate 10 cubic feet of still water, making it foul and unable to support water-breathing life. The ability spoils liquids containing water. Liquid-based magic items (such as potions) and items in a creature's possession must succeed on a Will save (DC 25) or become ruined. This ability is the equivalent of a 1st-level spell. Its range is 300ft.
Crush (Ex)
A flying or jumping Huge or larger dragon can land on foes as a standard action, using its whole body to crush them. Crush attacks are effective only against opponents three or more size categories smaller than the dragon. A crush attack affects as many creatures as fit in the dragon's space. Creatures in the affected area must succeed on a Reflex save (DC equal to that of the dragon's breath weapon) or be pinned, automatically taking bludgeoning damage during the next round unless the dragon moves off them. If the dragon chooses to maintain the pin, it must succeed at a combat maneuver check as normal. Pinned foes take damage from the crush each round if they don't escape. A crush attack deals the indicated damage plus 1-1/2 times the dragon's Strength bonus.
Delectable Morsels of Vim and Vigor (Su)
While the gluttonous creature enjoys devouring their food, even just a nibble is a joyous occasion for them. Every successful bite attack with their great maw heals the gluttonous creature a number of hit points equal to their Constitution modifier (minimum 1). If the gluttonous creature successfully swallows whole a creature whose CR is no less than 4 below the gluttonous creature’s CR, they heal a number of hit points equal to their Constitution score. Hit points healed over the maximum hit points of the gluttonous creature become temporary hit points. Temporary hit points from this ability over the maximum hit points stack, up to a maximum of twice the gluttonous creature’s maximum hit points. These temporary hit points last for 1 hour or until used.
Hurry to the Next Meal (Su)
While there is a qualifying living creature inside the gluttonous creature’s insatiable stomach, the gluttonous creature’s base speeds increases by 20 feet and it gains a +4 bonus on bull rush maneuvers. A living creature qualifies if its CR is no less than 4 below the gluttonous creature’s CR.
Infectious Gluttony (Su)
Those struck by the natural attacks of a gluttonous creature must make a Fortitude saving throw (dc 29) or require five times the normal amount of food Permanently. This effect is a curse and can be removed the same way curses can.
Speak with Reptiles (Sp)
A young or older black dragon gains the constant spell-like ability to speak with reptiles. This functions as speak with animals, but only with reptilian animals.
Swamp Stride (Ex)
A very young or older black dragon can move through bogs and quicksand without penalty at its normal speed.
Water Breathing (Ex)
A black dragon can breathe underwater indefinitely and can freely use its breath weapon, spells, and other abilities while submerged.
Description
The Gaping Dragon resides in The Depths. It is a descendant of the Everlasting Dragons, but its eternal hunger transformed its upper body into a maw.
"It's a little different to the other dragons in the world, It's part of an ancient race of mineral based life forms, existing since long before the emergence of mankind. Yet despite its superiority over us, its time has passed, and it finds itself alone in the world, the last of its race forced to survive in any way it can. As to what triggered this change, well the emergence of life corrupted it, it was warped by emotion and desire…"

Saronite
Saronite has all the properties of mithral but Saronite weapons count as Cold Iron and Evil for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction, affecting regeneration, and vulnerability to Cold Iron and evil. If a creature’s damage reduction can be overcome by Cold Iron and/or Evil, regeneration stops functioning due to a Cold Iron/Evil attack, and/or those vulnerable to Cold Iron/Evil takes half again as much damage (+50%) from a Saronite weapon (additional dice damage, such as that from a burst special ability or sneak attack damage, is not increased). Items not primarily of metal are not meaningfully affected by being partially made of this special material (a long sword can be a Saronite weapon, while a quarterstaff cannot). Weapons made from this special material have an increased market price of 2,000 gp. In addition, adding any magical enhancements to a Saronite weapon increases its price by 3,000 gp, This increase is applied the first time the item is enhanced, not once per ability added.
